this glorious wedding was shot by Sara and Mat
Denis has a big, bad, beautiful family cottage on Lake Simcoe.
Julia is disgustingly beautiful.
Denis is tall, dark and handsome.
Julia thinks wedding pictures are very important.
Denis… is a guy.
Julia’s decision to hire me ‘n mah boy Mat was a great one.
^facts. all facts.
Julia got ready at a family friend’s gorgeous cottage-home about 20 minutes down the lake. what. a. babe. I usually meet people before agreeing to cover their weddings, but this was a referral from a trusted and loved colleague (thank you Jennifer Van Son Photography), and the sound of a cottage wedding reeled me right in. I didn’t know what to expect, but when I saw this girl I nearly fell over.
The ceremony overlooked the lake, and Julia and Denis ducked out of the reception at sunset for an EPIC first dance as a mawwied couple on the dock. (yep. i said mawwied. MAWWIAGE. and PS the epic sunset dock shot isn’t til the very end of the post.) The sunset was CRAZY beautiful.
And then a really freaking great dance party took place back inside the tent with a live band and some sweet lighting. Photographers love eager dancers at weddings, and since it wasn’t a public property, nobody was there to enforce the “no-drinks-on-the-dancefloor” rule… which as we all know makes eager dancers even MORE eager.
